Launch of the Cheshire and Merseyside AHP Faculty testbed

On behalf of Caroline Dawn, Head of Therapy Services, St Helens and Knowsley Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, and Naomi McVey, North West Allied Health Professions Workforce Lead, Health Education England:

Date: Tuesday 4 February 2020
Time: 12pm – 1.15pm followed by lunch and discussion
Venue: Whiston Hospital, Warrington Road, Prescot

Developing AHP workforce supply and continuing education through AHP faculties, across systems, is a key commitment in the Interim NHS People Plan. We are therefore delighted to invite you to a formal lunchtime launch of the Cheshire and Merseyside AHP Faculty testbed, recently awarded national Health Education England (HEE) funding to test out innovative approaches to supporting AHPs in current practice.

The launch will take place over lunchtime and will provide a short, strategic overview of:

  • National AHP workforce priorities and the Interim People Plan
  • plans for the Cheshire and Merseyside AHP Faculty testbed
  • how faculty testbeds in the North West will connect with and support wider workforce developments.

An agenda is available.

The launch will be supported by Suzanne Rastrick, Chief Allied Health Professions Officer, NHS England and NHS Improvement.

AHP leads, professional leads, Directors of Nursing, HR Directors, strategic workforce leads, education leads, HEIs and other colleagues in Cheshire and Merseyside are all welcome to attend.

Numbers are limited – please email ahp.north@hee.nhs.uk to confirm your attendance - by midday Friday 31st January - including your name, role and organisation (or full email signature), and any dietary or access requirements.

Please do share with relevant colleagues.
