Crowdsourcing AHP placement expansion and innovation
17 July 2020
HEE's AHP team have been working hard to respond to the increasingly urgent need for a more robust and sustainable approach to good quality placement and learning environments. This will drive innovation and support colleagues to creatively bid for the HEE placement accelerator fund. Collaborating across professions, universities, Royal Colleges, professional bodies, regulators and internationally to share learning and build ambition has been fabulous. This has taken a variety of forms:
- The recruitment of Char Hobbs, a second year physio therapy student who is already half way through her blended placement with HEE and Southern Health
- The online workshop; Covid-19 workshop to enhance student placements* which engaged 1160 people across the healthcare professions, including 1005 AHP’s, 48 students and 17 return to practice individuals.
- A series of webinars on the themes of the Covid-19 workshop to showcase existing placement expansion supported by and delivered using technology or simulation, multiple supervision models and many of the other suggested solutions.
