COVID-19: Caring for those who care - information and resources for Allied Health Professionals

Maintaining the health and wellbeing of the AHP workforce is a focus for the Chief Allied Health Professions Officer as you all respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.  However, caring for those who care was a commitment drawn out of the crowdsourcing work used to develop AHPs into Action, highlighting the importance of this area for the AHP community.

On Friday 17th April, the weekly AHP webinar focussed on health and wellbeing.  Suzanne Rastrick was joined by Dr Sonya Wallbank, Head of Culture Transformation and COVID-19 Clinical Health and Wellbeing Lead, NHS England and NHS Improvement.  The recording of the webinar can be viewed on the Future NHS Collaboration Platform, however you will be required to register on the platform before being provided with access to the webinar.

Registration instructions:

  • Create an account on the Future NHS Collaboration Platform which will only take a couple of minutes.
  • After creating an account, please send an email to Stephanie Gates who will grant you permission to join the COVID-19 Incident Response Forum.
  • If you are already a member of the Chief AHPs Virtual Network on the platform, you will have automatically been added to the space and are free to start utilising it.
  • The webinar recording and slide deck are uploaded to the resource library within the incident space.

In addition to the webinar, a second curation has been developed which provides a further collection of wellbeing resources currently available and links to the Our NHS People websites.  Please provide feedback or suggestions for inclusion, and if you have any wider questions in relation to the AHP workforce and COVID-19, please contact england.CAHPO@nhs.net.

You can view further information on the NHS England and NHS Improvement website, which will be updated on a regular basis and the Future NHS Collaboration Platform.
