The third cohort of HEE's funded module on AHP First Contact Practice in Primary Care in now open for applications. 

This module will develop professional, clinical and leadership skills to enable Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) to design, implement and deliver advanced clinical practice within first contact roles. There will be a focus on the development of clinical, professional and leadership skills to support effective service redesign, delivery and evaluation to deliver safe, excellent and innovative patient care. 

This module is fully funded by Health Education North West to support lcoal service transformation and delivery of the Long Term Plan. Applications are welcomed for those Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) working, or planning to work in primary care first contact practitioner roles.

Priority will be given to those AHPs working in North West Sustainability and Transformation Plan footprints (Greater Manchester, Cheshire & Merseyside and Lancashire & South Cumbria; however, dependent upon numbers, opportunities may be available for those outside of the North West region so please do apply. Students will need to identify a mentor in primary care who will support their learning in practice.

The module will include five taught days of delivery at UCLan's Preston Campus, and one assessment day. The dates for the next cohort are:

  • Thursday 12 September
  • Wednesday 25 September
  • Wednesday 9 October
  • Wednesday 30 October
  • Wednesday 20 November (assessment day) or Thursday 21 November (assessment day)
