This Event has now passed

Event Description

Professor Tim Briggs, Chair of the GIRFT programme, along with Dr David Hargroves and Dr Deb Lowe, GIRFT joint clinical leads for stroke, invite you to join us for our webinar to discuss how we can get stroke care right first time.

Following the recent sharing of the GIRFT national report for stroke, which offers a blueprint for improvements to benefit patients, staff and the wider NHS, this webinar will discuss the 29 key recommendation that will help to transform stroke care.

We are delighted to welcome Professor Stephen Powis, NHS England and Improvement’s National Medical Director and SRO for the national stroke programme, who will present on the importance of improving stroke care in England; Juliet Bouverie, CEO of the Stroke Association, who will discuss the patient perspective; and Dr Vin Diwakar, medical director for transformation, who will update on plans for transforming stroke care within the NHS.

We will also hear from Professor David Werring, president-elect of the British and Irish Association of Stroke Physicians (BIASP), on the importance of neurology and research within stroke care, and Martyn Denny, representing the patient view.
